Vendor Integrations
Vendor integrations connect your existing parking technology to Dash, bringing customer, transaction, location and operational data together in one platform.
Dash works alongside your existing technology stack. Integrations allow data from parking systems, reservation platforms and other approved technology partners to flow into Dash, where it can be standardized and used across customer profiles, analytics, reporting and engagement tools.
How integrations work
Your parking operation may use several different systems across locations and products. For example, transient parking may be managed through a PARCS provider, reservations through an online marketplace and monthly parking through another platform.
Dash connects these data sources to create a more complete view of your parking operation.
Vendor system → Dash integration → Standardized data → Customer intelligence → Action
Depending on the vendor and available data, an integration can provide:
Customer and parker information
Parking transactions
Reservations and pre-bookings
Entry and exit activity
Monthly parking activity
Location and facility information
Product and rate information
Revenue and transaction values
Lead or booking activity
The data available in Dash will depend on the capabilities and permissions provided by each vendor.
What integrations enable
Once connected, vendor data can power features throughout Dash.
Unified customer profiles
Dash can connect activity from multiple integrated systems to build a more complete view of each known customer.
Profiles may include:
Visit history
Locations visited
Parking products used
Total spend
Visit frequency
First and most recent activity
Reservation or transaction history
Customer segments and behaviors
Portfolio analytics
Standardizing data from different vendors allows locations and systems to be analyzed through a consistent set of Dash dashboards and reports.
This helps teams understand:
Revenue performance
Customer behavior
Product mix
Visit frequency
Customer value
Location performance
Trends over time
Audiences and campaigns
Integrated customer and transaction data can also be used to build audiences based on actual parking behavior.
For example:
Customers who haven't returned recently
Frequent weekday parkers
High-value customers
Event parkers
Customers using a particular location
Monthly parking prospects
Customers using a particular parking product
Available campaign actions depend on the source system, customer permissions and applicable communication rules.
Integration methods
The way Dash connects to a vendor depends on the technology and access available.
API integration
Where supported, Dash connects directly to the vendor's API to retrieve authorized data.
APIs typically provide the most automated method for keeping information synchronized between systems.
Secure data feed
Some vendors provide scheduled data exports rather than an API. Dash can ingest these files through an approved secure transfer method.
Client-provided data
Where a direct vendor integration is not available, your organization may be able to provide approved exports for ingestion into Dash.
The Dash team will confirm the appropriate integration method during setup.
Adding a vendor integration
Vendor integrations are configured with the Dash team to ensure the correct locations, permissions and data sources are connected.
To request a new integration:
Identify the vendor or system you want to connect.
Confirm which locations use the system.
Contact your Dash representative or support team.
Dash will confirm the available integration method and any vendor requirements.
Complete any required authorization or data-access process.
Dash will configure and validate the integration.
Once validated, data will begin appearing in the applicable areas of your Dash account.
You may need to involve your vendor representative during this process, particularly where API credentials, data permissions or vendor approval are required.
Integration status
An integration may move through several stages before data is available throughout Dash.
Requested
The integration has been requested but setup has not started.
Awaiting access
Dash is waiting for credentials, permissions, vendor approval or another dependency.
Configuration
The connection and required data mappings are being configured.
Validation
Dash is validating incoming data, locations and key fields before making the integration available for use.
Active
The integration is connected and processing data.
Action required
An issue requires attention from Dash, your organization or the vendor before normal processing can continue.
Data standardization
Different parking systems often describe similar information in different ways.
For example, one vendor may identify a facility using a location ID while another uses a facility code. Parking products, transaction types and customer identifiers may also differ between systems.
Dash maps incoming vendor data into a standardized structure so it can be used consistently throughout the platform.
This allows data from multiple systems to contribute to common Dash concepts such as:
Locations
Customers
Transactions
Visits
Parking products
Revenue
Leads
Reservations
The original source system remains associated with the data so its origin can be identified when required.
Multiple vendors at one location
A single parking location can have more than one integration.
For example, a garage might use:
A PARCS system for drive-up parking
A reservation platform for pre-book parking
A separate monthly parking system
Dash can combine supported data from these systems to provide a broader view of activity at the location.
Dash applies integration and mapping rules designed to prevent the same activity from being counted more than once where data overlaps between systems.
Data ownership and permissions
Dash only accesses data that your organization and the relevant technology provider are authorized to make available.
Connecting a vendor does not change ownership of your customer data.
Access to vendor data may be governed by:
Your agreement with the vendor
Vendor API or data-access policies
Your agreement with Dash
Customer communication permissions
Applicable privacy and data-protection requirements
Some vendors may require additional authorization before Dash can access or use their data.
Important considerations
Not every integration provides the same information.
The functionality available from an integration depends on the data exposed by the source system. For example, some integrations may provide detailed customer and transaction information while others provide primarily operational or location-level data.
Data availability can also vary by:
Vendor
Product
Location configuration
Integration method
Customer identification
Data-access permissions
Your Dash representative can confirm what data is available from a specific integration.
Need another integration?
If you use a parking technology provider that is not currently connected to Dash, contact the Dash team.
When evaluating a new integration, it is helpful to provide:
Vendor name
Product or system name
Locations using the system
Type of data you want to bring into Dash
Your vendor representative, if applicable
The Dash team can then determine the available integration options and next steps.
